From complete obscurity to international recognition in one
swoop, "From Handbags to Hand Grenades" is starting to hit the big
time as both Yahoo News and NSN run a story about the book.
Author, Mark Robertson, described the event as
"surreal" after turning on his PC one morning to see the
internationally recognised logos running the same story about the book.
"It's like a dream come true" he said, adding, "I always hoped
that this would be where I would get to one day, but never expected it to
happen so fast".
For the majority of his career, Mark worked in the field of
Theatre, Film and Television as a Lighting and Special Effects Technician. But
in 2015 he decided to "go back to school" and study his second
passion, which was creative writing and journalism. Mark knew that his time
treading the backstage boards was coming to an end, citing the strength and
stamina required when loading truckloads of equipment at 3am was beginning to
get too much. He needed something which would help keep his brain active whilst
taking a less "hands-on" approach to things. Since qualifying, Mark
has gone on to write articles in several national UK magazines and now splits
his time between working at his home in Dorset, as well as twice a week as a
newsreader for two London radio stations.
