Having a Little Help From Your Friends

They say in life it's not always what you know, but who you know, and this is something I couldn't agree with more. As a broadcaster and journalist my ever expanding little black book of names to call on for assignments never ceases to amaze me with who I can reach out to at a drop of a hat. Whether it's to get a quote, or to obtain facts and figures, I know I have people I can rely on to help me out whenever I need it.

The same goes here in helping me to promote the book "From Handbags to Hand Grenades" and I'd like to take a few moments to say a big thank you for friends and colleagues within the world of media who've helped me out.

Over the past two years I feel sure they've had enough of me droning on about my little project. First it was, "I'm writing a book". Followed by, "what do you think of this chapter"? Then it was "I'm looking for a publisher" and finished of with, "can you help me promote it please"?

As the weeks turned into months, followed by years, my colleagues would smile and nod with encouragement - each step of the way they would offer their assistance or give helpful advice which was usually (but not always) received graciously.

But here we are... Two and a half years of hard work has now produced a Paperback, Kindle and Audio version of the book and I couldn't be happier. My thanks in particular go to Jackie Radio in London, Susy Radio in Sussex, Bournemouth One online station and everyone else who's played their part in helping bring everything together.
